18 months - Evie Brooke

A year and a half old!
Height: 32.25" 62%
Weight: 24 lb 5 oz 71%
Head: 48cm

She has a new love for baby dolls, especially the little one she got on her 18 month birthday. She even snuggles with it at night!

Evie has been on an eating streak that would put a grown man to shame. It was nothing for her to put down 4 pancakes, 2 eggs, sausage, banana, blueberries, and Cheerios. Breakfast is her favorite meal of the day and she eats almost constantly from the time she wakes until she naps. She still nurses 2-3 times a day.

We've recently tried watching tv and movies and she's starting to enjoy them more. She loves anything with animals, Sesame Street, the Lorax, and Mickey Mouse.

She still loves to read books. She also loves stacking blocks, driving her cars around while making "vroom" noises, and she's recently discovered Little People.

She's starting to show a lot more independence - she helps get out her own bowl or plate, helps pick up her toys, and today she went and got a towel when we were getting ready for a bath, without being asked!

Her speech is incredible to us! She has started combining words - things like "here you go mama", "thank you papa", "move dog-dog", and she recently said "mama see baby?"

She is starting to try to run, but it's still a little precarious. She LOVES to jump and is actually pretty good at it. We are considering tumbling class for her this winter. She's a cautious girl, but will climb if she knows she can or can get help. I think her cautiousness is a blessing in disguise because she seems to avoid dangerous places more than most places!

She's still easily overwhelmed and prefers a small group of people to large ones. She is starting to test her boundaries with us, but tends to listen well overall!

Her favorite people are definitely Upa (mom), Bumpah (dad) and Aunt Nanny. She loves her papa, but still prefers mama.

She is a silly, silly girl! She beautiful and sweet and loving, and we are so lucky!

Evie Brooke - 17 months

17 months means almost a year and a half. How is that possible?

This little chicken nugget is so much fun, and also so HARD! Toddlerhood is coming in full force with every new word she learns.

She's on the verge of running, after starting to walk at 15.5 months. She has about 25-30 words and loves to talk. She still uses her signs and says the words too.

She loves snack food, pouches, cereal, yogurt, bananas, broccoli, cheese-less pizza and her favorite, Chic-fil-a nuggets ☺️ Anything that she can dip she will devour!
She loves being outside, her wagon, reading books, and she LOVES her dog! She's still pretty dependent and doesn't like to play by herself very often. We spend a lot of time out of the house, at playgroups, parks, outdoor kid concerts, splash pads, and visiting friends.
She's still such an oxymoron! She's easily overwhelmed, a little shy, whiny (at least these days she is!), and clingy. She's also funny, friendly, sweet, communicates well, and loving. We are really starting to see some toddler tantrums starting, and a little defiance as well. It's all part of the game, but it's still hard!
